Please allow this letter to serve as my highest recommendation for Mr. Max Humphreys. Max is an excellent designer with decades of experience. He has done an excellent job for me designing and building many custom homes and major remodeling projects.
Max is particularly valuable because he not only has a very thorough understanding of the residential design processes from surveying to engineering to final construction drawings, but he also can build what he designs. This ability definitely shows in his designs. I have yet to have a single “buildability” issue with any of his designs, which I have certainly had with several architects I have worked with.
After having Max design several client projects, I was so impressed that I asked him to design and build my personal residence which was completed late last summer. As usual, he did an excellent job. I am proud to showcase Max’s work to any potential client.

This will serve as a letter of recommendation for Max Humphreys. I highly recommend Max for Architectural Design and construction. He designed our house located at the above address. His up front meticulous effort and knowledge of construction saved us an extreme amount of time when working with the city to permit the house. When talking to the building department, they told me they have not seen such a thorough set of plans in a long time. Max identified concerns before they were even asked and addressed them in the notes to the building department. Max could not have done this job without having a thorough understanding of how a house should be built.
During the process of meeting and working with Max, he was always so patient with us to understand what our taste and goals were. During the building of the project, Max was always there making sure that things were being accomplished in the manner promised. He helped us look for ways to be economical and frugal with building a 6,000 square foot Mediterranean house.
